Agreement

vem is singular.

Vem is coming.
Vem does know.

vems is plural.

Vems are coming.
Vems do know.

Why was this created?

Because sometimes you know there is exactly one person — but English makes you talk as though there might be more than one.

You: “Grandma, they are coming for dinner tomorrow.”

Grandma: “How many of them are there?”

You: “Just one.”

Grandma: “Then why did you say they?”

That is the hole vem fills.

When the number is known to be one, vem says one. When there is more than one, vems says more than one. No guessing about sex or gender is required, and no plural word is needed for a singular person.
